Indus Motor Company (IMC) is the assembler and seller of Toyota-brand vehicles in Pakistan. Due to the significant depreciation of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar, IMC has decided to increase the prices of its cars for the second time in January 2023.
In a notification sent to dealers on Friday, IMC informed about the increase in prices of its vehicles. The hike in prices can go as high as PKR 1,160,000. This will affect the prices of all Toyota vehicles assembled and sold by IMC in Pakistan.
As a result of the price hike, the base variant of the Toyota Yaris now costs PKR 4,079,000. The increase in prices will be applicable for all new bookings and deliveries from the date of notification.
It's worth noting that these price hikes may have an impact on the buying decision of customers. IMC and other car companies are facing a difficult time with the depreciation of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar, which causes an increase in the cost of production.
